Hi Everyone! If you have been diligently checking, you will now be rewarded. After another (snowy) year in Two Harbors and a BUSY summer working fulltime-plus, we are heading out again on Amicus, our 34-ft. steel ketch that has been patiently waiting in Knife River, MN, along the northeastern shore of Lake Superior. We have neither a set timeline nor a destination (we've learned a thing or two about the process) but hope to explore the far reaches of Lake Superior and beat the November gales home. There is a bit of wistfulness about this trip--Two Harbors is gorgeous right now, the leaves are beginning to turn, and the gardens are finally producing in bushels. So it is hard to leave. On the other hand, the last couple of falls we've noticed how primo the sailing conditions are, and this year we are set to take advantage and stay out as long as we can.
We are going to try to continue this blog, but know that our access to the internet will be extremely limited. In fact, if all goes well we may be out of cell phone and wireless range for weeks by tomorrow night!
Hopefully we will have many adventures but what the girls are really looking forward to is "sleeping in the v-berth." That, and Lamar's 5th birthday, will be the big events. Think of us out on the Big Lake--we will be thinking of you!
